A representative ArtShelf case showing how top-level route design can connect directly into local execution and commercial follow-through.

The context

Dalí Universe sought to establish a formal presence in China and launch a major exhibition in Shanghai. The brief required more than event production. It needed a partner who could support the China route at the legal and structural level, then continue into execution and retail delivery.

Our solution

ArtShelf supported the project across three connected layers. First, we provided consulting support for the setup of the client's Chinese subsidiary, creating a compliant operating base. Second, we managed the end-to-end execution of the Dalí x Old City Hall exhibition, turning a historic Shanghai landmark into a public-facing art destination. Third, we curated and supplied thematic books and merchandise so the exhibition could generate revenue beyond admission alone.

  • Full consulting support for Chinese corporate setup and compliance.
  • Turnkey execution of a major Shanghai exhibition in a landmark venue.
  • Curated art books and merchandise for on-site museum retail.
  • Integrated legal, operational, and commercial delivery into one China-ready workflow.

The impact

The result was a seamless China entry for a globally recognized art IP and a revenue-generating exhibition in central Shanghai. The case demonstrates ArtShelf's ability to connect strategic setup with demanding local delivery and commercial cultural retail.
